April 24, 2003 in St. Paul: Outside the office of Senator Norm Coleman, AWC sponsors civil disobedience with about 10 people, saying NO to the occupation of Iraq, and calling on Senator Coleman to act. Protesters stopped rush hour traffic on University Avenue for over an hour. In several cases, this meant facing off with aggressive drivers, and even an oil truck! Supporters rallied on the sidewalk. May 1, 2003 in Minneapolis: Protesters spoil Henry Kissinger's dinner fundraiser with the right-wing think tank, Center for the American Experiment. Henry and his guests choked on their meals, as one after another, about 12 well-clad "volunteers" stood up, blew whistles, and read from statements describing the long trail of war crims that Henry is responsible for around the world. June 14, 2003 in Minneapolis: The AWC, along with Northeast Neighbors for Peace, sponsors a rally against Occupation - in Iraq and Palestine. We demanded that the US troops leave Iraq, and that US dollars stop supporting the armed Israeli occupation of Palestine. A rally in the park was followed by a neighborhood march.
